The transfer I've been waiting for has finally been approved. I have been transferred to Starfleet R&D, but not only that, I've been given command of the new Prometheus class Research vessel the USS Apollo.
The head of Starfleet R&D, Admiral Ross has not only personally asked me to take this assignment, but he has also asked me to take on an officer that, in all truth I don't know how to deal with. His name is Tempus and he is an ambassador from the Q.

Tempus has been given a field commission of Lt. Cmdr, he has also been given the job of chief science officer. It is safe to say that I am not happy with this. However as it is a condition of the assignment I'll find a way to accept it, but how much can I really trust a Q.

My first officer and my second officer are on route to Utopia Planitia, its strange I'm going to have to get used to having not only a first officer and second officer but a third as well. This is mainly because of the Apollo's unique Multi-Vector Assault Mode. It is this system that allows the vessel to split into three distinct ships, each with the speed and capabilities of an Intrepid class starship, that mandates that I have three command line officers not two. At the moment I am waiting for two of them to arrive. Matt Salter is already on site and at the moment he is studying the specifications of the vessel he is to command when the Apollo splits. The saucer section.
My helm officer, chief of security and my chief engineer are also already here and they are readying their departments and staff for duty. My helm officer is something of an enigma. He was a test pilot in the 'belt' around Saturn. For some reason he was transferred, the current rumour was that he was sleeping with his commanding officer's wife. I thank god that I'm not married. However he is an excellent pilot, and we'll need one to use the Prometheus's controls and pilot three ships at once.

My chief engineer has arrived. She is quite something. Tempus has already tried to impress her by filling her quarters with red Roses. Tempus is also something strange. He has all the powers of the Q but he seldom uses them.
In fact this morning the main shuttlebay on the saucer decompressed and he was sucked out into space, along with three new ensigns.
He could have just clicked his fingers and transported them back inside. However he held them all together and waited to be transported inside.
This may be standard Starfleet procedure, but for a Q. He could have transported them all inside easily so why did he wait?
The only conclusion I can draw is that either he can't use his powers or he won't

All of my crew are now aboard apart from a few junior officers and my chief medical officer all of these however we can pick up on route to our first mission. We have been ordered to the planet Ormaana. It is a small mining and agricultural world. A scientist who lives there claims he has invented a beam weapon that is three times as powerful as the current phasers that Federation starships use. We are to transport him to Utopia Planitia and begin testing of his prototype.

It appears that this scientist is extremely advanced in years and requires special conditions in order to give the Federation his designs. my first officer Cmdr Salter has gone down to the surface to negotiate with him

Pete has returned with some startling news. The old man is actually a vorta. It seems that during the Dominion war his ship that was his prison crashed and the Jem H'adar that were guarding him were all killed in the impact.
He was quite old when this happened and due to the nature of the crash, he was crippled. He has explained to Matt that he is willing to give all of his technological secrets to the Federation. It also seems that he is incredibly sexist, he has refused to talk to or interact with any of my female officers. The price is a new cloned body for him.

We have referred the Vorta's (whose name is Trelwyn) request to Admiral Ross and have been informed that to my disgust the Federation Council is considering his request

Until the Federation Council decides what course of action to take we have offered Trelwyn a ride to the nearest Federation Outpost where he can at least receive Medical attention.
We are still awaiting the arrival of our Chief Medical Officer , she is an academy honours graduate and another person who was hand-picked for my crew by someone else. Apparently her grandfather served on the original USS Enterprise when it was commanded by James Kirk. Her name is Andrea M'Benga.

We are currently docked at jupiter station where Trelwyn is showing the scientific staff there some of his knowledge. e continues to amaze them so much so that I believe that the council will grant his request. This would give us access to advanced Dominion technology. But is it right ????

My Councillor has arrived and is settling into her Quarters, her name is Sally Hope, the only thing that bothers me is her race, she is Tallin. her homeworld was destroyed when the borg annexed and assimilated their world a few years ago. The tallin race has the same telepathic abilities as betazeds so she should make an excellant addition to the crew. The reason her race bothers me is that they learn things by absorbing them telepathically. Im not sure I am comfortable with that but all things aside she is a very gifted officer and in the years to come Im sure she will suprise me.
